Pax System Planner

Finally, finally, finally!! It has been almost 2 years since we ripped the carpet out of our closet, put new flooring down and painted the closet. I never intended to wait this long to continue remodeling it, however Ikea had different plans for us. They have been out of stock of the Pax System for almost 2 years. Everything was finally in stock, so I quickly made the purchase and sent my husband next day to Ikea to pick it all up, in a U-Haul. 😂 It's ok he still loves me.  😂. We have been waiting for this for far too long. Now, this is part 1 of how I planned our closet out. Our closet is oddly shaded with a corner wall that sticks out far too much and is far too ugly to continue to see. I designed this with the mind set of covering that wall. However, I thought I would have space for a mirror, now I am not sure..

Let's Make Soap!

Making soap is such an amazing experiece. Kids love making soap; as long as the soap you are making is already a base, and not one you make with Lye yourself, because Lye is such a powerful chemical that it can burn through your hands and childrens. That is why I use a melt-n-pour soap base instead of from scratch. Here is what you need to get started:

We will need 91% Alcohol (rub), molds, knife, any soap base, cups for melting soap, scents, natural food dyes, and something to mix the soap up. Once you gather all of your ingredients you want to open the soap base, cut the soap into blocks, place in cup, and melt on 15 seconds at a time until the soap is fully melted.

Once the soap has melted, and you mix in your colors, and scent (making sure to mix it in completely) pour into your molds and spray with the alcohol; spraying with the alcohol is releasing the air bubbles in the soap. Allow to harden 30 mintues to 1 hour before adding your second color. Repeat the process but instead let it stand 1-2 hours. Once cooled completely release from the molds, and your soap is ready to use! =]

Second Pour! Letting sit!

Out of the mold!

And there it is! This is so easy, the hardest part is waiting for the first layer to set up, to pour the next layer! I really hope y'all enjoy this and give it a try! If you do please share your photos here, or on my facebook page use #organicmominthekitchen!
